Couple robbed at knifepoint of €200,000 jewellery in Limassol

Six people broke into a home in Sfalangiotissa, Limassol, at around 3am on Thursday, threatened a couple with knives, restrained them and stole about 5,000 euros in cash and jewellery worth about 200,000 euros, according to the couple’s report to police.

Police are investigating the case as a burglary and robbery. According to initial police information, the six entered the house where the couple live and, threatening them with knives, restrained both occupants before taking the cash and jewellery.

The couple, who are foreign nationals, did not report the incident to police straight away. They made the complaint in the morning, and officers from Limassol police division went to the scene and began investigating to gather evidence and trace those responsible.

Investigations are continuing. Police are expected to take statements and collect CCTV footage from the area for examination.
