Cyprus’s Council of Ministers approved on Thursday an 8.33-cent-per-litre reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel, extending the measure’s expiry from September 17, just a week away, to November 30, 2026, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos said in a statement.
The Special Consumption (Excise) Duty cut applies equally to both fuel types.
The decision reflects the government’s determination to keep supporting households and businesses as fuel prices remain high, Keravnos said.
The Ministry of Finance will continue monitoring international energy price developments, he added.
