A collision involving a personal watercraft operated by a 17-year-old girl and an inflatable water sports craft off Protaras on Saturday afternoon resulted in injuries to two passengers and the hospitalisation of the driver.
According to police reports, the 17-year-old was operating the jet ski when it collided with a towed inflatable carrying five passengers.
The impact injured two individuals on the inflatable: a 48-year-old man and a seven-year-old girl. The 17-year-old jet ski operator was transferred to Archbishop Makarios III Hospital for medical treatment.
Police authorities launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances and causes surrounding the maritime accident.
