President Nikos Christodoulides will chair a National Council meeting today and brief members on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem, following last week’s visits to Cyprus by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the newly appointed EU Special Representative for the Cyprus problem, Raffaele Fitto.
The National Council session is scheduled to begin at 10:30am.
Christodoulides said on Saturday that preparatory work at a technocratic level had already begun with the United Nations to build the groundwork for a successful, expanded conference on the Cyprus problem, adding that this preparatory work would continue throughout August.
