A packed cultural agenda across Cyprus this week includes visual arts, poetry, theatre, conferences, film screenings, dance and exhibitions, with events taking place in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos.
VISUAL ARTS
Larnaca, Pierides Museum (22128175). The exhibition “Nina Iacovou: Eyes to see and hands to touch”, co-organised by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and the Pierides Museum, brings together works from different periods of the artist’s career, highlighting the range and continuous evolution of her visual language. Ceramic compositions, sculptures, paintings, drawings, installations and mixed-media works form a polyphonic ensemble in which material becomes a carrier of memory and lived experience. Opening: 7.30pm. Until 6/5 2027 (Monday – Thursday 9am–4pm, Friday – Saturday 9am–1pm)
POETRY
Nicosia, University campus, outdoor area CHOD 01. 6.30pm. As part of the event, the High Commissioner of India, Manish Manish, and the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Tasos Christofides, will honour his memory by laying flowers at Tagore’s bust on the campus. Selected poems by Tagore will be recited by poet Iosif S. Iosifides, former president of the Cyprus Writers’ Union.
THEATRE
Paphos, Markideio Municipal Theatre, 7 May, 8.30pm. It will be presented in Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia, where it will open the 10th Strovolos Municipality Theatre Festival. Limassol, Pattihio Municipal Theatre, 8 May, 6pm & 8.30pm.
