Wednesday will turn mainly cloudy across Cyprus, with scattered showers expected — particularly in the west and the mountains — before conditions deteriorate further from late afternoon, when rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast.
Winds will blow from the northeast to southeast, generally moderate to strong at force 4 to 5 Beaufort, with gusts reaching force 5 to 6 on windward coasts. Seas will be moderate at first, becoming generally rough and periodically rough in the north and west.
Temperatures will reach around 19°C inland and along the southern and eastern coasts, around 21°C on the western and northern coasts, and around 15°C at the highest mountain elevations.
Thursday will begin with localised rain and isolated thunderstorms, but conditions are expected to improve significantly by midday, with only isolated showers remaining. Friday and Saturday will start mainly clear, though cloud will build during the day, bringing isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon — mainly over the mountains and in the east.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Thursday to near or just above seasonal norms, before dropping gradually through Saturday to slightly below average for the time of year.
