The Aradippou area in Larnaca district has been without electricity since early Monday morning following a fault that struck at five minutes past five, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) said.

An EAC spokesperson told state radio that crews were working to locate the exact point of the fault in order to isolate it and restore power to affected residents via an alternative supply route.

The EAC website listed an estimated restoration time of 11:00 am, though spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou said the issue could be resolved earlier.

In a later update, the EAC said the problem was being addressed and that electricity was gradually returning to the affected areas.
