A 52-year-old man died on Sunday evening after a two-car collision in the Aradippou area of Larnaca district, police said.
Nikos Nikolaou, a Dromolaxia resident, was driving along Ellados Avenue at around 7:30 pm when his vehicle collided with a car driven by a 68-year-old man carrying a 34-year-old male passenger. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.

Police and fire service personnel attended the scene, with firefighters freeing Nikolaou from his vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where a on-duty doctor pronounced him dead.
The 68-year-old and 34-year-old were also taken to Larnaca General Hospital by ambulance. The 68-year-old was kept in for observation as a precaution, while the 34-year-old was discharged. The Larnaca Traffic Department is continuing its investigation.
A section of Ellados Avenue near the overpass of the Larnaca–Larnaca Airport motorway remained closed as of around 6:30am on Monday.
Drivers heading to the Aradippou Industrial Area were advised to use the Larnaca roundabout and continue via Akropoleos Avenue and Ivykou Street in Aradippou.
