A 19-year-old woman died in a fatal road collision in the early hours of today on Agia Thekla Avenue in Sotira.
Kristina Achilleos from Sotira was killed when the car she was travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a concrete tank wall, police said.
The crash occurred around 1.30am. A 19-year-old male driver was travelling with a 20-year-old front-seat passenger and two 19-year-old female passengers in the back seats when the vehicle veered off the road at a point under investigation and struck the concrete perimeter wall of a tank, where it came to rest.

Achilleos suffered fatal injuries. The driver and front-seat passenger were injured and initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital before being transferred to Larnaca General Hospital for further examination.
The fire service attended the scene to free one of the vehicle’s passengers who was trapped. According to information by the police, all passengers were wearing a seatbelt. Additionally, the driver underwent a drug and alcohol test, with negative results.
The second 19-year-old female passenger was taken to Nicosia General Hospital for treatment due to the critical nature of her condition.
