Canadian mum’s snow-made ice cream goes viral as temperatures hit -15°C

A Canadian mother has gone viral after transforming her snow-covered garden into an improvised freezer to make homemade ice cream in -15°C temperatures.

In a video circulating on social media in recent days, the woman demonstrates how she exploited the extreme cold to create ice cream directly on the snow using just three ingredients: cream, sugar and vanilla.

She places the mixture in a bowl outside in her yard and lets the biting cold do all the work, whilst her child watches enthusiastically, waiting impatiently to taste the result.

The video was reposted by the NEXTA account, which commented with humour: “A mom from Canada showed a homemade ice cream recipe at -15°C. Cream, sugar, vanilla. Try it at home. And if possible – don’t forget your mittens!”

Users rushed to comment, with many calling it “the most Canadian recipe of all time” and others declaring they want to try it if temperatures ever drop that low.

“My hands would freeze before I even finish it,” wrote one user. Another wondered “who wants ice cream when it’s so cold?”
