Democrats release more Epstein estate photos featuring Trump, Gates, and Mountbatten-Windsor

Relevant News

Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee have released 19 more photographs taken from the estate of the late convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein. US President Donald Trump, entrepreneur Bill Gates, and former royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are among the high-profile individuals featured in the newly released images.

The committee’s action comes as Representative Robert Garcia announced in a statement that the group is currently reviewing “over 95,000 photos” received from Epstein’s estate, adding that more will be released to the public “in the days and weeks ahead.” Critically, these images are not the main collection of Epstein files that the US Department of Justice was ordered to release by 19 December.

Prominent figures in the images

There is no suggestion that these pictures imply any wrongdoing, and many of those featured in them have consistently denied any improper association with Epstein. Epstein was associated with many well-known figures, and merely being pictured in files related to the disgraced financier is not an indication of misconduct.

  • Donald Trump appears in three of the 19 released photos. These include one image of him flanked by several women whose faces have been blacked out, another showing him alongside Epstein while talking to a woman at an event, and a third image of him next to another woman whose face is also obscured. A separate photo shows an illustrated likeness of Trump on red packets next to a sign reading “Trump Condom.” Trump was a friend of Epstein’s for years, though the president has stated they fell out around 2004, years before Epstein was first arrested. The US president has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
  • Bill Gates and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are seen together in one of the images. This photo appears to be a cropped version of an image taken by a professional photographer and available on the Getty Images photo agency. The fuller image reportedly depicts King Charles (then the Prince of Wales) and was taken during a summit focused on malaria in London on 18 April 2018, during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
