The Department of Forests has informed the public it is upgrading Platania camping site as part of efforts to improve forest recreation facilities and provide better services.
The works include improving and upgrading existing infrastructure, demarcating caravan and tent pitches, and constructing and strengthening fire protection measures.
According to the department, the site must be cleared of all caravans and campers’ equipment by 15 December 2025 for the works to proceed without disruption.
Platania camping site suspended operations from 5 November 2025 until completion of the upgrade works.
The Department of Forests has asked for the public’s understanding.
