Two lanes on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway will reopen on Saturday, 25 January, at 15:00 following upgrades to the Kalavasos bridge, the Department of Public Works announced.
Upgrade works will shift to the Limassol-Nicosia direction from 30 January to 15 May 2025, closing both northbound lanes for approximately one kilometre. Traffic will be diverted to contra-flow on the opposite carriageway.
The Limassol-bound motorway entrance from the old Limassol-Nicosia road at Zygi junction will close. Motorists must instead use the Governor’s Beach junction.
Officials warn of likely traffic congestion and urge drivers to plan journeys ahead, use alternative routes where possible, and comply with temporary road signs and police instructions.
