Concrete workers reject minister’s mediation proposal as strike continues

Relevant News

Workers in the ready-mix concrete sector have overwhelmingly rejected a mediation proposal from the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance for the renewal of their collective agreement, following a joint general assembly of three trade unions.

More than 70% of workers voted against the proposal in a secret ballot held during a meeting between the SEK, PEO and DEOK unions, according to the Cyprus News Agency.

The trade unions will inform the Labour Minister of the ballot results and will hold a joint council meeting this afternoon to decide their next steps. Meanwhile, industrial action in the sector continues.
