Workers in the ready-mix concrete sector have extended their ongoing strike after failing to reach a final decision during Tuesday’s general assemblies.
State broadcaster CyBC’s Third Channel reported on Wednesday morning that trade unions requested an extension from Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou, which was granted.
The original arrangement required both unions and employers to provide their responses by 8 a.m. today.
Following the minister’s extension, workers are now expected to deliver their answer around midday.
According to current information, workers are not fully satisfied with Minister Panayiotou’s mediation proposal.
The strike, now in its third week, has significantly disrupted work at major construction projects across the country.
