Paphos bus drivers to strike over collective agreement dispute

Relevant News

Bus drivers at OSYPA, Paphos’s public transport operator, will stage a 24-hour strike on Monday, 25 November, following a breakdown in negotiations over a collective agreement renewal.

The decision was taken at a general meeting on 13 November, where workers rejected a second mediation proposal from the Ministry of Labour, according to joint statements from trade unions OMEPEGE-SEK and SEGDAMELIN-PEO.

The unions said the industrial action complies with the Industrial Relations Code, adding that the strike became necessary after attempts to reach an agreement failed.

Whilst expressing regret for passenger disruption, the workers and unions maintained they were not responsible for the situation.
