The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow weather warning for isolated severe thunderstorms on Sunday, with rainfall intensity expected to range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour.
The warning, which will be in effect from 8:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, forecasts possible hail and strong wind gusts accompanying the thunderstorms.
A weak high-pressure system currently affecting the region will give way to a low-pressure system on Sunday, bringing predominantly cloudy conditions with local rain and isolated thunderstorms. Some areas may experience intense or prolonged weather phenomena.
Tonight will remain mostly clear with northwesterly to northeasterly winds at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Temperatures will drop to 11 degrees Celsius inland, around 15 along the coast, and 8 degrees in mountainous areas.
Saturday will begin clear before becoming partly cloudy, with temperatures reaching 24 degrees inland, 26 on the coast, and 15 in higher altitudes. Monday and Tuesday will see partly cloudy conditions with possible isolated showers, particularly in mountainous regions.
The Met Department noted that temperatures will remain near seasonal averages on Saturday before dropping on Sunday, with little change expected on Monday.
