A low-pressure system is expected to bring significant rainfall across Cyprus on Sunday, with potential thunderstorms and extreme weather conditions, according to Kitasweather.
Today and Saturday will remain mainly finw with temperatures ranging between 24-27°C inland and along the coast, and around 13°C at Troodos’ Chionistra peak.
However, as Kitasweather notes, conditions will deteriorate significantly on Sunday as a barometric low moves into the region. The weather system is expected to bring:
- Widespread rain and thunderstorms across the island
- Strong storms with potential for large hail and gusty winds
- Temperature drop to 22-24°C inland and 23-25°C on the coast
- Mountain temperatures falling to around 9°C
The unstable conditions will continue into Monday and Tuesday, though with milder, isolated showers. Temperatures will remain at seasonal averages, with partial sunshine between cloud cover.
