The education ministry will proceed with its alternative schooling programme for at-risk students at a new location, following the failure of its initial plan to establish the facility next to Pancyprian Gymnasium due to opposition.

Education Minister Athena Michaelidou told the parliamentary Finance Committee that the programme will now begin in the second term, starting February.

She explained that some students who would have enrolled in the programme had it launched in October are currently attending their regular schools to complete their first-term grades in January.

However, she noted that some students have unfortunately dropped out of the education system entirely.
