The Ministry of Education plans to launch a pilot alternative school programme for students exhibiting deviant behaviours, Minister Athina Michaelidou said on Wednesday.

The programme, scheduled to begin in October, aims to provide support to both the students and their schools, as well as address dangerous behaviours such as the use of weapons.

The alternative school will host students for four months, offering educational support and assistance from specialised services.

The ministry has already identified a location for the school and is finalising the programme design, which will be announced shortly.
