The Larnaca Municipality has launched a tender for a €2.5 million regeneration project in Livadia, a rapidly developing district benefiting from oil tank relocation, local officials said on Wednesday.
This follows the start of the implementation of flood control works in the district.
The project, set to commence in early 2025 with a two-year timeline, aims to revitalise the former municipality’s core, including improvements to Makarios Avenue and infrastructure upgrades.
“This will change the image of Livadia and give a new dynamic to the area,” Marios Armenis, Larnaca Municipality’s Deputy Mayor for the Livadia district told philenews.
Future plans also include a €2 million Environmental Park in the Panerka area, featuring sports facilities, a lake, and a Nature Museum. Design approval is expected by August 5, with tenders aimed for early next year.
The municipality is concurrently reconstructing 12 parks in the district and planning a new roundabout at Livadia’s entrance.
