Around 09:25, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his entourage arrived in the occupied areas to attend the traditional parade in occupied Nicosia, marking the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion.
At the illegal Tymvou airport, the Turkish President was greeted by the Turkish Cypriot leader, the so-called “government,” the commanders of the Turkish Armed Forces present in the occupied areas, a host of other officials, and the leaders of the Turkish opposition, Özgür Özel and the Turkish Cypriot, Tufan Erhurman.
Today, a military parade will take place in occupied Nicosia, with speeches by Ersin Tatar and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish President is accompanied by Devlet Bahçeli, the Chairman of the Nationalist Action Party, which is part of the ruling coalition, and the leaders of smaller parties supporting him.
