A suspect in the murder case of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos has been arrested by the police in connection with the discovery of heavy weaponry in a cemetery in Oroklini.

The arrest occurred at the Central Prisons, where the individual is already detained as a defendant. According to philenews, DNA evidence found on the weapons links this person to the crime.

This development introduces new dimensions for the investigators, who will now pursue a second charge against the suspect.

The cache of weapons, discovered in a grave on May 20, included an RPG launcher with two missiles, a G3 military rifle, a high-power improvised explosive device with an integrated mobile phone, two pistols, a hunting rifle, and ammunition.

Thanasis Kalogeropoulos was murdered in broad daylight on October 30 in Limassol. Four individuals have been charged in connection with his death. One of the suspects is being questioned about the weaponry, while two others are already in custody for the same offence.

However, new evidence suggests that the investigation is expanding. DNA evidence potentially implicating other individuals has been discovered, and efforts are underway to identify these suspects.
