The Cabinet on Wednesday approved regulations enabling online student registration for the 2025 school year (starting September 2025).
The initiative leverages the schools’ electronic governance system and software developed with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy.
A pilot programme this year yielded positive results, prompting full implementation next year, according to Education Minister Athina Michaelidou. The online system aims to streamline the registration process for parents.
In a separate decision, the Council of Ministers established a Day of Remembrance and Honour for victims of the Armenian Genocide, the Greeks of Pontus, and the Assyrians.
