Police arrested three minors as part of an investigation into a case of arson at a school.
According to an official police statement, authorities were alerted to a fire at a school in Nicosia approximately 45 minutes past midnight on Saturday.
Members of both the police and fire services rushed to the scene to contain and extinguish the flames.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire resulted in damage to multiple rooms, and subsequent examinations revealed additional harm, particularly to windows, suggesting possible projectile impact, possibly from stones.
After investigations, three minors were taken into custody.
They were brought before the Nicosia District Court today, which issued four-day detention orders for the individuals.
The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continues investigations.
