A high school teacher recently arrested as a suspect in a sexual harassment case of a female pupil, has been suspended from his position pending an investigation.
As Philenews reports, the Educational Services Committee has suspended the teacher following a request by the Education ministry.
As reliable sources told Philenews, the gymnasium teacher (7th to 9th grade) was arrested by members of Violence in the Family and Minors Abuse Unit around two weeks ago, following an allegation of sexual harassment by a female pupil.
He was remanded in custody for a few days and released pending the conclusion of the on-going investigation.
As reported, ‘the case is being delicately handled by members of the special minors abuse unit’, based at Police Headquarters in Nicosia.
