LGBTQIA+ communities from both sides of divided Cyprus will hold parallel marches on 27 September 2025, converging at the UN-administered Ledra Palace buffer zone for the fourth consecutive year of the United by Pride event.
The marches will depart at 18:00 local time from Eleftheria Square in south Nicosia and Kuğulu Park in north Nicosia, bringing together Greek- and Turkish-speaking communities alongside participants from across the island.
United by Pride organisers said the event aims to promote multicultural coexistence and place human rights at the forefront during a period of global and regional tensions.
“We are still here, and we are still marching for peace, reunification, queer liberation, and collective justice,” organisers stated in their announcement.
The Ledra Palace buffer zone serves as the symbolic meeting point where communities from both sides of the divided island will gather to protest and celebrate together, regardless of their geographic location on Cyprus.
This year’s programme includes live performances, a full stage show with dedicated hosts, DJ sets, and a live band. A series of pre-Pride events will take place in the days preceding the main march.
Organisers describe United by Pride as “a space of politics, joy, memory, and struggle” rooted in values of anti-racism, decolonisation, demilitarisation, self-determination, and grassroots organising.
“Change is possible, and it is already in motion,” organisers said, describing their united presence across the divide as sending a powerful message about the potential for transformation on the island.
