“Walk your own proud path”: Cyprus Pride 2026 to take place in June

Accept LGBTQI Cyprus has announced the Cyprus Pride 2026 march will take place on June 6 at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens, under the campaign slogan “Take it to the street. Walk your own proud path.”

The organisation said the slogan was drawn from phrases commonly used to dismiss or exclude LGBTQI people, and was intended to reclaim that language as a call for presence, visibility and assertion of rights.

The campaign frames the march not only as an act of protest but as an act of existence, dignity and freedom, Accept LGBTQI Cyprus said.

The organisation said that at a time when phrases such as “natural order,” “traditional values” and “protection of children” are increasingly used as tools of fear, exclusion and disinformation, Cyprus Pride responds by taking to the streets.

Accept LGBTQI Cyprus said Cyprus Pride 2026 extends beyond the LGBTQI community, addressing anyone who believes human rights are not open to negotiation or indefinite postponement.

The organisation expressed solidarity with other groups it said face exclusion, discrimination or invisibility, including feminist movements, migrants, people with disabilities, workers, farmers and young people.

The march also continues to press for progress on a range of equality and rights issues, the organisation said, including equal marriage, adoption rights, legal recognition of gender identity, access to healthcare, accessibility and effective protection from hate crimes and hate speech.

The creative direction and execution of this year’s campaign was handled by Innovation Leo Burnett, which the organisation said has supported Cyprus Pride for another year. Accept LGBTQI Cyprus thanked all contributors, creators, partners and professionals who supported the campaign on a voluntary basis.
