The 26th Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival continues through 22 June, featuring ten performances from seven countries at venues in Limassol and Nicosia.
Nine performances will take place at Rialto Theatre in Limassol, with one scheduled at Nicosia Municipal Theatre. The festival programme was curated by Artistic Advisor Fotis Nikolaou.
Three key performances highlight the international scope:
12 June: “Erroneous Encounters” by Cypriot choreographer Panayiotis Tofi explores post-traumatic experiences through movement, live electronic music and poetic text. The 45-minute work was created with support from the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s TERPSICHORE 2024 programme.
14 June: “CUIR” presents a Belgian production by Arno Ferrera and Gilles Polet examining themes of physical manipulation and mutual consent through contemporary dance.
16 June: “Folklore Dynamics” features Italian company VIDAVÈ, addressing political resistance through choreography inspired by Italian dialects and regional identities.
All performances begin at 20:30. The festival is organised by the Deputy Ministry of Culture and Rialto Theatre in collaboration with Limassol Municipality.
Tickets cost €8 individually or €30 for all performances, available through www.rialto.com.cy or the box office at 77 77 77 45. Free admission applies to students, military personnel, pensioners, people with disabilities and professional dance artists.
