City of Dreams Mediterranean will host a tennis exhibition match on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, to celebrate the first anniversary of the Marcos Baghdatis Tennis Academy.
The event will feature former world number one players Marat Safin and Dinara Safina competing against Marcos Baghdatis and Karolina Šprem Baghdatis.
The anniversary celebration follows last year’s tennis event, which featured American tennis legend Andre Agassi.
Marat Safin claimed 15 ATP Tour singles titles during his career, including two Grand Slam victories at the 2000 US Open and 2005 Australian Open. His sister Dinara Safina secured 12 WTA Tour singles titles and nine doubles titles, highlighted by her women’s doubles triumph at the 2007 US Open.
Grant Johnson, Property General Manager at City of Dreams Mediterranean, shared his enthusiasm about the anniversary celebration.
“We are delighted to celebrate the first anniversary of the Marcos Baghdatis Tennis Academy with such a prestigious event,” Johnson said. “It is our pleasure to host these exceptional athletes once again, and we anticipate an unforgettable experience for tennis fans. This celebration honours a successful first year whilst demonstrating our commitment to developing tennis in Cyprus and inspiring future champions.”
The event will include additional activities and entertainment beyond the main exhibition match.
