When the future gets strangled…

It is indeed an ability to be able to listen to real needs and existing problems that plague everyday life. Unfortunately, reality screams so loudly. At the same time, the noise about other matters follows a frenzied path, and the cries of despair from young people, who only ask for a future in their own country, fall on “deaf ears.”

Apart from some spasmodic and occasional half-measures that are attempted from time to time, how effective and efficient are all those notorious programmes that are announced with such pomp for the professional rehabilitation of young people?

In theory, much is said. In practice, however, the sentiments of ordinary citizens are reflected in the observation that “if you have connections or a party, you get through,” as a father painfully confessed, with his child’s papers in hand, desperately searching for employment. Even with those salaries, which are not enough for the basics.

Otherwise, the young are the future of this country, as all those vying for positions and power never fail to declare… Otherwise, we have decoded those notorious messages that were so widely spread through the ballot boxes and caused shockwaves… What a joke.

Of course, any messages that are extracted are meant to be overlooked in this country… Because, let’s face it, the clearest thing in this painful story is that the enraged youth want, at last, to come forward. To demand, to achieve what they are entitled to from life. So that they can have dreams and hopes. This, if anything, is an unmistakable message that should pierce through whatever sensitivities remain.

We discuss so many issues and easily enter into endless discussions. With a surplus of verbose discourse, doomed to lead almost nowhere… We desperately search for solutions in a labyrinth that often gives the sense of chaos… What legacies are we preparing to leave for their future so that this country has a future? Let’s give them the opportunity to express themselves so we can listen to what they want, and if we dare, let us be silent for a while. But that requires virtue.

The future of our youth in this country, under conditions of meritocracy and dignity, also touches on our national issue, and more specifically the demographic headache, which the more we ignore, the more it evolves into another calamity.

Really, how much do we concern ourselves with the issue of why a young person is forced to escape from their country to feel what dignity, the joy of life, and the fulfillment of dreams mean? Have some dared to climb a few steps of empathy?

Meanwhile, the multiple pensions and excessive privileges, which are so reverently protected in this country, hold strong. On the contrary, there is even a question of human rights when you dare to step on such holy banks… What crookedness!
