Diving blocked at Sea Caves

Relevant News

The dangerous spot at the Sea Caves in Cape Greco National Forest Park has been fenced off in an effort to stop extremely risky dives from the area, which repeatedly mobilises the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, particularly during the summer months.

The fencing was installed by the Department of Forests, as many injuries are recorded every year, while the safety of rescue crews is also put at risk.

According to the announcement, the temporary fencing also aims to protect the area’s geomorphological formation, which shows signs of instability.

The public is urged to comply with the instructions and signs placed in the area and to avoid activities that put their personal safety at risk.

Let us hope this measure will reduce the diving, because it is only a matter of time before lives are lost.
