A 79-year-old woman was found dead in her car in the early hours of Monday morning near Limassol.
Police believe the death may have been caused by medical issues.
Penelope Michael, from Limassol, was discovered in her vehicle at approximately 4:45 a.m., Limassol Traffic Police reported.
According to police, Michael was driving her saloon car on the bypass road towards Nicosia when the incident occurred. Near the Yermasoyia junction, her vehicle briefly veered out of control before coming to a near-complete stop against a concrete barrier on the right side of the road. The car sustained minimal damage, with only minor scratches to the bumper.
Initial investigations suggest the loss of vehicle control was likely due to medical causes related to the driver.
Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigation, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted at a time to be determined.
