Woman, 67, dies after car crashes into wall in Anthoupoli

A 67-year-old woman died after losing control of her car and crashing into a wall in Anthoupoli on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Fotini Paschali.

According to information under investigation, Paschali was driving along Sporadon Street at around 6.45pm when she lost control of the vehicle, mounted the pavement and crashed into a wall, where the car came to a stop.

Police said Paschali was not wearing a seat belt and became trapped in the wreckage.

Firefighters were called to free her from the vehicle before she was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where a doctor pronounced her dead.

Nicosia traffic police are continuing their investigation.
