Police have closed both lanes of the Nicosia–Larnaca highway in the direction of Larnaca following a collision between a truck and a saloon car near Pera Chorio, with traffic now being diverted via the Alambra exit, police said in an updated statement.
The collision, which happened earlier on Thursday, disrupted traffic and left two people slightly injured. The right-hand lane in both directions had initially been closed as a result.
Traffic police are at the scene to manage and ease the flow of traffic. Police are urging drivers to be especially careful, reduce their speed, and follow the instructions of officers on duty.
