The layer of fog or thin mist in a number of areas has limited visibility significantly and drivers are advised to maintain low speeds, safe distance from vehicles and have their headlights on if necessary, police said in a relevant statement early this morning.
A possible cause of the fog is believed to be the high level of humidity across a number of mainly coastal regions.
Works are also under way across highways but also provincial roads which might affect traffic and drivers should be on the lookout for signs.
If on the network this morning, authorities call on the public to follow all the relevant signage to prevent collisions, in difficult conditions.
