Hundreds of passengers spent the night at Larnaca Airport after 11 Israel-bound flights were diverted to Cyprus following Iran’s missile attack, airport operator Hermes said.

Five of the diverted flights have since departed, with the remaining scheduled to leave throughout the day, according to Hermes officials. Airlines arranged hotel accommodation for approximately 500 additional passengers.

Security measures have been intensified at the airport, with Cyprus National Guard and Police maintaining a heightened presence amid increased passenger traffic.

Ten arrivals from Israel and nine departures are scheduled for Tuesday, with no additional emergency flights added thus far, the airport operator told philenews.
