Prominent Limassol businessman Stavros Demosthenous, chairman of Karmiotissa football club, was murdered in a daylight shooting outside his Limassol home shortly after 9:00 a.m. today.
Demosthenous, who previously served as president of Aris Limassol, was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle by assailants who approached on a motorcycle and a van before fleeing the scene.
Police and emergency services responded immediately to the attack. Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a murder investigation into what appears to be a targeted assassination.
Forensic teams are currently examining the crime scene, and police are appealing for witnesses who may have information about the incident or the suspects involved.
