Velograph has won first place and 10,000 euros in seed funding at the EU-funded Startups4Peace (Su4P) pitching battle, which brings together Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs, the programme said on Thursday. Takodo and ParkInTown, second and third, received 5,000 euros each, and all three teams won sponsored trips to Web Summit in Lisbon.
Velograph turns everyday cycling data into standards-based safety assessments of city cycling networks. Takodo makes plug-and-play programmable electronics that make coding teachable in short lessons for eight to 14-year-olds. ParkInTown makes automated parking payment and barrier systems that cut lost revenue for parking operators.

At Web Summit in November, the three teams will be able to network with international investors, hold one-to-one meetings and prepare their startups for growth abroad.
Participants in this year’s programme took part in two bootcamps, each lasting two full days, with mentoring sessions in between to develop their business models and strategies. The teams then pitched their business ideas to an independent jury of industry experts.
This year’s graduates will also get direct access to the eunite Angel Investor Network and the Access to Finance (A2F) pipeline to help them secure further investment.
