Sixty flights cancelled at Cyprus airports as Middle East tensions escalate

Relevant News

A total of 60 flights to and from Cyprus were cancelled on Monday as the aviation industry grapples with the fallout of military strikes involving the US, Israel, and Iran.

The wave of cancellations follows Tehran’s retaliatory strikes against regional targets after weekend operations by US and Israeli forces. According to data from Hermes Airports, the disruption has affected both major hubs on the island.

At Larnaca Airport, 42 flights were removed from the schedule, consisting of 21 arrivals and 21 departures. Paphos Airport saw 18 cancellations, split equally between nine arrivals and nine departures.

Authorities have urged all passengers to contact their airlines or travel agents for the latest flight status before heading to the airport. The cancellations primarily affect routes crossing regional airspace that remains closed or restricted due to the ongoing hostilities.
