Police have arrested a second suspect over an attack on food delivery drivers in central Paphos on Tuesday night, tracing him through video footage held from the scene of the incidents.

The suspect is a 22-year-old man, for whom an arrest warrant had already been issued following the footage review. Police located and arrested him. He is expected to appear before Paphos District Court tomorrow, where a detention order will be requested.

He is the second person arrested in the case. A 35-year-old man was arrested last night and appeared before the court this morning, where an eight-day detention order was issued against him.

Police said investigations are continuing at an intensive pace to identify and arrest any others involved in Tuesday night’s incidents. A payment dispute with a delivery driver escalated into a series of attacks that left five delivery drivers injured, one of whom remained in hospital for further treatment. Police are investigating offences including robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, riotous behaviour, illegal possession and carrying of an offensive weapon, common assault and malicious damage.
