Authorities in Cyprus have issued a public warning over fraudulent messages circulating via social media platforms and mobile phones, falsely claiming recipients must pay traffic fines through embedded electronic links.
According to an official police statement, several complaints have been received from citizens who were targeted by the scam. The deceptive messages are designed to trick users into revealing personal information or making payments.

Police clarified that they do not issue fine notifications via text or social media, and urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid clicking on suspicious links.
