Police are investigating a possible link between a missing person and the double murder of two men whose charred bodies were found in a burnt-out car in Limassol on Wednesday.
The bodies of the two men were discovered after a citizen reported a car fire early on Wednesday morning. Autopsy results revealed they died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Police spokesman Christos Andreou told state radio on Thursday that officers were examining a report of a missing person who lived in the same area as the murder scene. “We hope to identify the bodies soon,” he said.
Investigators believe the victims were killed in the car before it was set on fire.
Their positions within the vehicle, one in the front passenger seat and the other reclined in the back, are seen as crucial to the murder investigation.
