Police investigations are in full swing regarding the death of a 30-year-old woman, who was found dead this Sunday morning in a flat in the Germasogeia river area of Limassol. The circumstances under which she was discovered were deemed suspicious from the outset, putting the Police and the Limassol CID (Criminal Investigation Department) on high alert.
The Assistant Police Director and Press Spokesperson for the Limassol Divisional Police Command (ADE Limassol), Lefteris Kyriakou, made a statement on the case, saying the following:
“Around 11 o’clock this morning, we were informed by the Ambulance Service that they had received a call and visited a flat in the Germasogeia river area, where a woman, approximately 30 years old, was found inside the flat without vital signs and was pronounced dead.”
“The circumstances under which the woman was found required investigation, and officers and members of the Limassol CID, as well as other patrols, immediately arrived at the scene, without ruling out any possibility.”
“Also, the Assistant Chief – Prevention and Combating of Crime, as well as the Limassol Police Director, went to the scene. Examinations are currently being conducted by the state pathologists, who are expected to give us more details regarding the circumstances of death.”
When asked whether the woman lived alone in the flat, Mr. Kyriakou replied: “She had been living in this particular flat with other individuals for the past few days. However, as you understand, it is far too early. We are waiting for the scene examinations to be completed, and as soon as we have anything further, you will be informed.”
When asked if any arrest warrants have been issued or if people are being questioned, Mr. Kyriakou noted: “As I’ve told you, it is too early to say more. Some individuals are being questioned, and if there is anything further, you will be informed.”
