Authorities have issued an urgent travel advisory for motorists heading to the mountains, as heavy snowfall and dense fog create hazardous driving conditions. The Prodromos to Troodos road and the route from Troodos Square up to Olympus are currently restricted to vehicles equipped with snow chains or four-wheel drive.
Thick fog blankets the entire mountain road network, severely reducing visibility for commuters. Police urge drivers to exercise extreme caution, maintain low speeds, and keep a significant safety distance from the vehicles ahead to prevent accidents in the treacherous conditions.
