The Transport Ministry has terminated the contract for the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway project after the contractor completed only 30% of the planned work, Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades told Polis Chrysochous Mayor Yiotis Papachristofi on Monday.
The project, which was due for completion this year, has been significantly delayed by contractor INTRAKAT’s slow progress, leading to the contract’s termination, Papachristofi told the Cyprus News Agency.
“The contract should have been terminated months ago,” said Papachristofi, adding that the company had fallen far behind schedule.
Minister Vafeades is expected to visit Polis Chrysochous in the coming days to discuss timelines and the new tender process for both phases of the project with local authorities.
