Police arrested five Paphos residents after officers stopped a car in Kato Paphos and found cocaine, cannabis, magic mushrooms, methamphetamine, cash and precision scales.
Members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit, working with officers from the Paphos Crime Prevention Unit and Paphos police patrols, stopped the car at around 7.50 pm on Saturday.
The car was driven by a 54-year-old, with a 27-year-old, a 20-year-old, a 35-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl as passengers. All five are residents of Paphos.
Police said the 27-year-old tried to run away immediately after the vehicle was stopped, but officers intercepted him a short distance away.
A search found about 83 grammes of cocaine in his possession, as well as €3,050 and £70. He was arrested for a flagrant offence.
A further search of the car and the other passengers found another four grammes of cocaine, about 19 grammes of magic mushrooms, about 183 grammes of cannabis, half a gramme of methamphetamine, precision scales and other evidence, which was taken for further examination.
All five people were arrested for flagrant offences and placed in custody to help police investigations.
The Paphos branch of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit is continuing investigations with the Paphos traffic police.
