The Cyprus Peace Council has announced an event in solidarity with Palestinians for Sunday, November 5, at 16:00pm at the opening of Ledras Street in Nicosia.

In its announcement, the Cyprus Peace Council states that it organises the event “to strengthen the demand for an immediate ceasefire” and to “put an end to the crime committed by the State of Israel in Gaza”.

Cyprus Peace Council‘s announcement:

“We demand an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people!

We demand to open the crossings to allow international humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

The Israeli occupation, the colonization of Palestine and the siege of Gaza must end!

We express our solidarity and support to the long-suffering Palestinian people and the peace-loving forces of Israel fighting for peace and security in the Middle East. We support their demand for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state as stated in UN resolutions.

Solidarity with the Palestinian people!

Freedom is for Palestine!”

This is the fifth protest to be held in support of Palestinians in Cyprus since the beginning of Israel’s bombing of the Gaza Strip.

Previous protests have been organised by various initiatives and groups, including Palestinian organisations, the Cyprus Peace Council, independent left-wing organisations and the Gate 9 football fans association.
