A man who became trapped after climbing down the impressive coastal natural site in Peyia, had to be rescued by a Pafos fire crew as the ground became unstable and slippery.
The tourist climbed around three metres down road level towards the sea caves in mild weather conditions, but suddenly found himself unable to move up or down with the terrain making any steps highly dangerous.
He was able to notify the Pafos fire station that responded with a rescue team and vehicle. They used ropes and rescue harnesses to bring the Norwegian man back up to the surface.
He did not suffer any injuries.
