A 17-year-old newly enlisted National Guardsman was transferred to the intensive care unit on Saturday morning.
According to initial reports, the National Guardsman felt unwell and lost consciousness. An ambulance rushed to the scene and transported him to the hospital, where he is now being treated in the intensive care unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
There is no diagnosis yet regarding the cause of his condition, but heatstroke is being considered as a possible cause.
